About
Hi, I'm Adithya M D.

I'm a software developer from Karnataka, India. I build websites, web applications and office software for people who need something to work better, and every project starts with understanding that need.
I studied for a Bachelor of Computer Applications at Sri JCBM College, Sringeri, and completed a Java Full Stack internship (Feb 2026 – Apr 2026), run by the college's BCA department with experts from MTD, Mysuru. During the internship I worked with React, Spring Boot and MySQL. My internship project, a College Management Portal, became the starting point for the college ERP I later built.
Most of what I've built so far was for real users with real constraints: the college's website and admin panel, its ERP for attendance, marks and timetables, a desktop inventory system now used by college staff, a tool for comparing vendor quotations, and a system for student placement records.
Those projects taught me that the hard part is rarely the code. It is finding out what people actually need, keeping a record of what was decided, and leaving them with something they can run without me.
The work I take on with confidence is websites and web applications for small businesses and institutions, especially ones that need an admin panel their own staff can use. I'm also open to an entry-level software developer role, building backend and full-stack features with Java, Spring Boot and React, and learning from engineers with more experience than me.

Unfamiliar requirements
When I haven't done it before
Many requests involve something I haven't built before. I start by restating the requirement in my own words and checking it with you, because misunderstandings are the most expensive bugs.
Then I look for the smallest version that proves the hard part works, read the official documentation, and build that first. If it turns out the problem needs skills I don't have, I tell you, and we can decide together whether to adjust the scope or bring in someone else.
The college website is a good example: it started on free hosting with one storage provider, and moved to its own server and a different storage service as the requirements became clearer.
What I value
Principles behind the work
Requirements before technology
I want to understand what has to happen, for whom, and under which constraints before I pick a framework.
Honest scope
I say what I can deliver, what I'd need to learn, and what I'd leave out. Plans change; I'd rather you hear it early.
Software people can maintain
Clear code, documentation, backups, and admin screens that let non-developers keep things running.
Small, visible steps
Working pieces you can try early, instead of one large reveal at the end.

Growing into
Used in recent work, including this portfolio. I'm still building depth with these, and I'll tell you honestly where I stand.
Currently
What I'm working on
- Maintaining the college website, now live at jcbmc.ac.in.
- Deepening my TypeScript and Next.js skills. This portfolio is built with both.
- Strengthening my automated testing, including end-to-end and accessibility checks.
Got something that needs building?
Tell me what's slowing your team down. I'll tell you honestly what it would take, and whether I'm the right person for it.
